Feliz Navidad

Well it is Wednesday and I am finally caving and going to take a few more hours of vacation time. Like a whole 8 hours!! I plan on using my extra day off packing, cleaning and wrapping anything left. Headed to the big AR on Friday. We are celebrating early because my sister only gets Christmas Day off work. So we will load up the blue pony and head south.

We are planning on just relaxing at home and celebrating with a big fiesta. All Mexican food and all you can eat! There will be dips and chips and cheese and beans.

THIS LADY WILL BE IN HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday.....

Monday (the week before Christmas break) and I am already bored! All students are gone. Most all instructors are gone. Boss is gone. So I sit and think of little things I can do around the office but we already cleaned, and organized. We finished up things for the year so I have no projects waiting.

Of course I can think of a million things at home I need to be working on.
1. Cleaning house
2. Wrapping presents
3. Laundry
4. Napping
5. Dishes
6. Snuggling with my puppy

Very important stuff!!!!!
Hopefully I can hang in there and survive this week. It is always a tough one.

Paradise Valley

So for and AWESOME Christmas present I got my lovely sister a ticket to John Mayer (Paradise Valley). John has been off tours for over 3 years now due to a throat issue. For a singer this is a BIG DEAL. So he rested and is better than ever. So Lacey and I met my aunt Becky and Uncle Dana for dinner then off to the Intrust Bank Arena. We found our seat on the floor (AWESOME I KNOW) Get got ready for Phillip Phillips to open up for John.

 

Now let me tell you I loved John Mayer’s music before but after hearing it live and getting to see him perform and hear his voice, OH MY GOD! I will always be a lifelong fan! I wanted to walk out of there and buy every bit of music this beautiful man has ever made.

I am STILL glowing from this and will never forget it. I can't wait till he comes back to Kansas because you can BET I will be going!

Thanksgiving and sides

So much has happened and I know you get the same shpeal over and over but ladies and gentlemen I have been BUSY!!!!!!!!! Photography was BOOMING this fall and I could barely keep up. That is GOOD! Taylor turned 7 and is really enjoying 1^st grade.

We work on spelling and sight words every night. So instead of listing all the awesome things we have been doing I will just talk about Thanksgiving till now. Thanksgiving was GREAT! Weather was perfect and food was plentiful. Lacey and the girls were there, Brook my brother and his girls were there, Tony and Baylee came out. It was a FULL house of  family and friends.

That Sunday Lacey and I attended the John Mayer Concert, but that was such an awesome night it deserves a blog post all on it’s own J He did NOT disappoint!!!

Trips to the river

Always a love for this place. It is amazing that I get to take my daughter here and let her enjoy the world I grew up in.

This is the stuff dreams are made of! We had sunshine and laughter. Times like this make me happy I am from where I am from. Simple and beautiful is all I need.

Taylor is a 1st Grader!

She was so excited and nervous. I was so proud, excited and nervous. I am sad she is growing up so fast but she is turning into such a strong beautiful young girl. 

I love her with all my heart and have so many hopes and dreams for her!  Let's hope for an awesome year!!! I know it will be amazing.

Working

Well I have my first blog to book made. I have SO MANY entries that it had to be separated into years and I am finding out that even some of my years are so full of stuff they might have to be separated so this might take a while. 2007 is done though and being printed for $35. 2008 is a lot larger so I will have to cut that into two books or go though and delete some posts that aren't very important.

Taylor and I had a very sweet moment last night. My best friend Jaime is pregnant and one of her gifts I am giving her is this sweet book I came across recently. Someday by Alison Mcghee. Well last night I wanted to read it to Taylor since I hadn't had time to go through the whole book yet. It is a simple book about a mother's love for her daughter and how she dreams she lives a fulfilling life of happiness. Well I don't have to tell you I am Miss cry baby and that book did me in!!!!. Taylor was just listening along and my voice started to tremble. The farther we went I just couldn't help but choke out the sweet words on the page.

She looked up at me with concern and we both started laughing! I was cry laughing and she was like, "Mom but book isn't even that sad???"
"I know honey, it makes me happy sad. All the things this mommy wants for her baby girl is what I want for you too."

Well she looked confused and said Read it again. So I did :)

From blog to book

I think I'm going to turn my old blog into a book that way I can look at it and all its pictures whenever I want to and not have to worry about the website disappearing someday. 

As some of you know I reached the limit adding photos to my blog so this will give me a chance to free up space for my photography blog which is connected.

I started my original blog in 2007 so it's really special to me,  Taylor's childhood is basically documented on the blog.

So let you know how the process goes I have found a website that turns blogs into books we will see how expensive it gets!!!! 

Camping at Beaver

Family vacation time at Beaver lake. It was GREAT!!!!!! (except for Friday) Rainy mess!! We survived and it didn't slow us down too much.

I hated to see it end! Time with my family in such a beautiful place was just perfect.

Night at the carnival

LOVE IT when the carnival comes to town! This year it was bigger than we have seen and Taylor just could not wait to ride the night away. I shelled out the money so we could ride unlimited rides and I made sure we got our money's worth!!!!!

The first ride I wanted to go on was the BIG BEAUTIFUL faris wheel. It was HUGE



We rode the Tilt-a-Whirl so many times I am still seeing circles!! I love that ride and Taylor and I have it down so we can get it going so fast!!

Tony and Baylee showed up so I was happy to take a break from the more SCARY rides!

She finally was brave enough to try it again and it was cool now witht he lights glowing and we could see so far in the city.  The night was magical and everything I remembered when I was a kid going to carnivals.

At the end of the night we found a May Fly and Taylor was pretty excited that he picked the carnival to spend his only day on Earth. (they only live one day ya know)

Family reunion 2013

We had so much fun camping at CouncilGrove lake last weekend. The weather was so nice the tent was so roomy. We cooked hot dogs and brats we had all kinds of yummy snacks and dips the whole time.

The girls threw rocks in the water and tried to catch bugs they even played it in the water some.

We got to visit with our relatives and get to talk to family we haven't seen a long time.

Saturday evening is when the storms came it put a little bit of a damper on the situation but we had fun anyways!
